Slipstream rides are designed to be more than just time on the bike. They’re planned as full days out, with stops that make the miles even more worthwhile.
While each ride has its own character depending on the route, the shape of the day tends to follow a familiar rhythm.
The start
Most Slipstream rides begin around 8:30 in the morning, when riders gather and get ready to roll. There’s always a moment for introductions and catching up before the group settles into the road ahead.
The coffee stop
By around 10:00, the group usually arrives at the first stop of the day.
Coffee stops are a key part of the Slipstream experience. We aim for places that are worth the visit, good coffee, welcoming spaces and somewhere riders can properly relax before heading back out.
The miles in between
After coffee, the route opens up again. Riders tend to move naturally into smaller groups, with conversations flowing as the journey passes. This middle stretch is often where the pace of the ride really settles in, scenic roads, steady pacing and time to simply enjoy being out on the bike.
The lunch stop
By around 1:00pm, the group arrives for lunch.
Just like the cafe stops, lunch is carefully chosen. We look for places that offer a proper experience, decent food, an enjoyable atmosphere and somewhere riders can sit down, relax and refuel.
It’s not an event where you’d grab the nearest option along the road. The stops are part of the day, and we want them to feel like it.
The final stretch
After lunch, the ride gradually turns back toward the starting point. The final part of the route tends to feel a little lighter, chatter continues, legs loosen up, and the day begins to wind down as most rides circle back to the finish between 4:30 and 5:00pm.
More than just a ride
Every Slipstream ride follows this general pattern, but no two are ever the same. Different routes, landscapes and talks shape each day.
What stays consistent is the intention behind it, thoughtful routes, great company, and stops that make the experience memorable.
If it sounds like your kind of day, explore the upcoming rides and come along for the next one.
